We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible achievements of one of our shining stars, Taimania Jones, who has been part of our Binar program since the age of 15. Taimania's dedication, talent, and passion have taken her on an extraordinary journey, and today, we are honoured to celebrate her remarkable success.
Last year, Taimania was named the umpire of the year at the prestigious National Indigenous Basketball Tournament (NIBT). Representing Western Australia, Taimania showcased her exceptional skills.
This year, her story continues…
Taimania's exceptional abilities once again earned her the title of ‘Outstanding Referee’ at the 2023 NIBT. But that's not all! In an unexpected turn of events, Taimania was also selected to travel to Las Vegas where she will work with the best referees in the world. What an incredible opportunity!!
Just recently, Taimania also won the NAIDOC Youth of the Year award, which recognises the outstanding contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to improving the lives of people in their communities and beyond.
Taimania's journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication, relentless determination, and incredible talent. Her remarkable achievements remind us that dreams do come true with hard work and perseverance.
