Binar Takes on the World at the 15th Asia Pacific Cup in Singapore
Four teams, one Binar family, and an unforgettable international basketball experience.
Binar Maali travelled to Singapore with four teams competing in the 15th Asia Pacific Cup, bringing together more than 50 athletes, coaches, leaders and support staff for an incredible international basketball experience.
Representing Binar were our U14 Boys, U16 Girls, U16 Boys and U18 Boys, who took to the court against teams from across the globe at a tournament featuring more than 170 teams from 17 different countries.
For many of our athletes, it was their first time travelling internationally, making the trip about so much more than basketball. It was an opportunity to experience a new country, challenge themselves against unfamiliar opponents and showcase the talent we have here in Australia.
A Bronze Medal and Plenty to Celebrate
A major highlight of the tournament was our U16 Boys bringing home the bronze medal, an outstanding achievement on the international stage. We are incredibly proud of the team and the way they represented Binar throughout the competition.
Across all four teams, our athletes faced new challenges and gained valuable experience competing against different styles of play, adapting to unfamiliar venues and adjusting to different officiating. These opportunities are an important part of their development, helping them grow not only as basketballers but also as confident young people.
While we celebrate the results achieved on the court, the true value of this experience extends far beyond the scoreboard.

More Than Basketball
Between games, our athletes had the opportunity to explore some of Singapore's iconic attractions, creating memories away from the court as well.
From visiting Sentosa Island and experiencing the spectacular light show at Gardens by the Bay to exploring shopping centres, taking on escape rooms and visiting Universal Studios, there was plenty of adventure packed into the trip.
One of the most rewarding things to witness was the connections our players made with athletes from other teams. After games, players were seen taking photos together, exchanging jerseys and celebrating their shared love of basketball, regardless of which team they represented.
These moments captured exactly what sport can do. It brings people together, creates friendships across borders and builds connections that extend beyond the game.
One Binar Family
Throughout the tournament, our four teams and their coaching and support staff showed what it means to be part of the Binar family. Whether competing on the court or cheering from the sidelines, our athletes and staff supported one another every step of the way.
Our Binar Cheer Squad brought the energy to every game, turning up to support our teams and celebrate each other's efforts. That sense of unity, encouragement and pride was just as important as anything that happened on the scoreboard.
We are incredibly proud of the way our athletes conducted themselves throughout the trip and represented Binar, both on and off the court.
Thank You
Experiences like this are made possible by the people who stand behind our young athletes.
To all our players, thank you for your enthusiasm, teamwork, sportsmanship and the way you embraced every opportunity presented to you. To the parents and families who travelled to Singapore to support their children, thank you for being there and helping make this experience so special.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our coaches, leaders and support staff for their dedication, guidance and care throughout the trip.
A special thank you goes to Barminco, our major High Performance Program sponsor, whose support helps create opportunities like this for our athletes. Your partnership helps us provide experiences that broaden horizons, develop talent and create lasting memories for our young people.
We returned from Singapore incredibly proud of what our teams achieved, but even prouder of the friendships formed, the experiences shared and the way our Binar family came together.
The medals are something to celebrate, but the memories, connections and lessons our athletes take home will last long after the final whistle.
