High performance
Creating and supporting pathways for Aboriginal youth to engage in high-performance sport from a young age remains a core focus for Binar, and with the valued support of our major supporter Barminco, we proudly facilitated numerous opportunities in 2025 for young athletes to compete at both association and national levels.

SINGAPORE
Binar had the privilege of taking a group of 76 youth to Singapore, with many experiencing their first overseas trip, to compete in the Asia Pacific Youth Basketball Cup.
We were represented by nine teams in total, six boys teams and three girls teams, competing against sides from across the region including Australia, China, Guam, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the UAE, the USA, and Vietnam.
A standout achievement came from our Under 16s Boys team, led by Andrew Vlahov and Efrem Garlett-Watson, who proudly secured silver, while our Under 16s Girls team, led by Isaiah Walley-Stack and Tiahna Websdale, delivered an outstanding campaign to claim gold.
2026 asia pacific youth basketball cup - singapore
This year, Binar took more than 50 players, coaches and team staff to Singapore to compete in the 15th Asia Pacific Youth Basketball Cup. Represented by four teams across the Under 14 Boys, Under 16 Girls, Under 16 Boys and Under 18 Boys divisions, our players competed on an international stage alongside teams from across the region and beyond, gaining invaluable experience both on and off the court.
A standout achievement came from our Under 16 Boys team, led by Andrew Vlahov, Matt Parsons and Curt Ah Wang, who proudly secured the bronze medal in a tournament featuring 190 teams from 17 countries.
Beyond the results, the trip provided an opportunity for our young athletes to develop their skills, build friendships, strengthen team connections and create lasting memories through international competition and cultural experiences.
