What you need to know...

Basketball WA’s State Championships are held across five weekends in November and December each year. Binar proudly nominates boys’ and girls’ teams across the following age groups:

  • Under 11 – 2015 & younger

  • Under 13 – 2013 & 2014

  • Under 15 – 2011 & 2012

  • Under 17 – 2009 & 2010

  • Under 19 (Men) – 2007 & 2008

  • Under 20 (Women) – 2006, 2007 & 2008

Trials & Team Selection

Trials begin in early October and are the main entry point for athletes looking to step into representative basketball with Binar. Once selected, teams will train together in preparation for their allocated tournament weekend.

  • Athletes attend 2-3 tryout sessions.

  • Exemptions may be granted if Trial 1 is missed (this will still count as one of the two guaranteed trial opportunities).

  • Cuts may be made throughout the process and will be communicated within 48 hours of the relevant session.

All teams are selected by Binar’s Director of Player & Coach Development and the appointed lead coach for each age group, with input from our head coaches.
