As members of various Aboriginal and other communities, we respectfully gather here on Noongar Boodja.
We pay our respects to Elders and acknowledge ancient connections from past to the present for our safe conduct.
JUNIOR DOMESTIC BASKETBALL REGISTRATIONS
warwick
We have a range of Junior domestic competitions that players can enter for the upcoming winter season in the following locations:
Cockburn
Warwick
These competitions run during school terms 4 and 1 (October 2022 through to April 2023). Fees vary for each of these competitions (see below). You must register for each competition that you wish to play in. We will only be entering a limited amount of teams per age group that we have parent volunteers to coach and manage.
We now have an Afterpay option that needs to be completed prior to registration in PlayHQ.
Expectations
-
Players are expected to be at every game unless the coach is notified with an adequate amount of time.
-
Binar is a community first and a basketball club second. We expect respect and open communication between members.
-
If you can't commit to playing every week, we will keep you on a "fill in" list to play only when another player is away.
-
All members will have to read and sign the Code of Conduct form agreeing to uphold the values of Binar. Breaches of the code will be taken seriously and may result in suspension or expulsion from the club.
Our Values
-
Respect for Yourself and Others
Our first team of players built a solid reputation by playing fairly and embodying our values. At Binar we respect each other, we respect the referees, and we respect the opposition.
-
Resilience
Binar athletes are resilient in all aspects of life. We power through adversity, ask for help when we need it, and look after one another. We are stronger together.
-
Culture
We wear the Binar uniform with pride. Playing for Binar and wearing the Binar jersey carries the privilege and responsibility of honouring the culture that our first team created for all other players, and of honouring our own culture.
-
Connection
Binar allows Aboriginal athletes to connect to Mob. We also allow the Binar family to form a connection regardless of background. We are inclusive and care for one another.
-
Equity
We believe everyone deserves equity of opportunity to become the best person they can be. We strive to provide opportunities to young people that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
Uniforms
-
Reversible player jerseys must be purchased prior to the start of the season and will be your own responsibility to wash and bring to the games (pictures shown below).
-
We acknowledge and thank Nerolie Bynder for her design of the jersey which encapsulates the dreamtime story of Binar.
-
Shorts without pockets need to be worn (safety requirement) and some competitions require players to purchase the association shorts
Volunteers
With a huge number of teams playing we need some parents to step up and help coach or score for the teams. Without this voluntary help we will need to charge a club fee to pay some coaches to come and help each week. Binar will be more than happy to put any volunteers through a coaching course if wanted. We are also applying to become a WABL association in 2022 and will need your support to make this happen. If you would like to assist in any capacity, please contact us.
